Wag Works Cares is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rescue dogs succeed in their forever homes.

Wag Works Cares has officially received 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. While inspired by the Wag Works brand, Wag Works Cares operates as a separate nonprofit entity with its own leadership and financial structure, focused entirely on charitable work that supports rescue dogs and the families who adopt them.

Our mission is to help bridge the gap between adoption and long-term success for rescue dogs. Many families hesitate to adopt because of concerns about behavioral challenges as dogs adjust to a new home.

To help address this, Wag Works Cares plans to partner with local shelters and rescue organizations in the Winston-Salem area to provide “Pup Scholarships” for newly adopted dogs. These scholarships are intended to help cover the cost of post-adoption training with trusted trainers in our community, supporting families as they work to mitigate behavioral issues and build a strong foundation with their new companion.

By helping remove this barrier to adoption, Wag Works Cares hopes to increase successful placements, strengthen the bond between dogs and their families, and give more rescue dogs the opportunity to thrive in stable, loving homes.
